A free Juneteenth celebration in the heart of Austin. wyldflower + schithegod on the ones and twos, community in the park, a vendor market, and activations. Presented by Outreach Productions, Art is Cool, Sunday Sessions and Third Spaces. More than a party, a remembrance, a gathering, a freedom celebration.

What to Expect:

Welcome to Community Juneteenth!
Since 2008, Outreach Productions has been hosting Juneteenth at the Carver Library in Austin, Texas. Come celebrate this important day with us and enjoy a day filled with family-friendly activities and cultural performances. Join us in commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Our event is in person, so get ready to have a great time surrounded by community and history. Enjoy food and refreshments,

RISE: Freedom Communities Festival

Mark your calendar and join us for RISE: Freedom Communities Festival at Pease Park on Sunday, March 29th from 2:00–5:00pm.
Pack your blankets or lawn chairs and gather in community to enjoy engaging activities, music, food, and discussions. More details to come!
In 2025, the event featured an excerpt from Rise — a film that explores the rich history of the Freedom Communities that emerged in Austin after emancipation and Juneteenth, the importance of fostering unity, and stories from the descendants of Austin’s Black freedom communities.

This summer, Outreach Productions invites students ages 10–15 to join our Summer Art & Literacy Program — a fun, hands-on learning experience where creativity and reading come together!
Each week, students will explore painting, illustration, and visual storytelling with professional art instructors while strengthening their literacy skills through engaging, art-based reading and writing activities.
✨ What to Expect:
- Creative art workshops in painting & illustration
- Guided literacy activities woven into the art projects
- Mentorship from experienced teaching artists
- Field trips on Saturdays (details coming soon!)
- Healthy lunch & snacks provided daily
🎒 Whether your child is a budding artist, a book lover, or just curious to try something new, this free program offers a supportive and joyful space to grow and create.
